- The email address you sign in with. Sign-in is a 6-digit code sent to that address, or Google or GitHub; the code expires and is not kept. No ID, phone number, school or date of birth is asked for.
- From checkout: the email address and the amount paid, as the payment processor reports them. Card numbers go straight to the processor and never reach us.
- One usage record per question: a request id, the time, the length of the question and the answer in tokens, and the charge.
- The ledger of balance changes: plan payments, charges, refunds and disputes.
- Where your first visit came from: the referring site, the link’s campaign tags and the page you landed on, saved with your account when your first sign-in creates it.
Your chats, the mode you picked and the “about you” line from Settings are kept in your browser, not on our servers. Clear them and they are gone. The “about you” line goes with each question to the model so the answer fits your level.
Questions and answers. They pass through the service to the model and back, and are not written anywhere on our side.
The service is for people 13 and older. We do not knowingly open an account for a child under 13, and we delete one when we learn of it; write to hello@nerdly.us. Under 18, use it with a parent or guardian’s permission.
- Cloudflare runs the service and stores the data above.
- The AI model behind the chat is served by a third-party model hosting provider under contract with Uplink Switch LLC. It receives each question and returns the answer; it is not told who you are.
- The payment processor for Uplink Switch LLC runs the checkout. For a card payment it receives the card, the email address and the amount. It is named on the checkout page and the receipt.
- Resend (resend.com) sends sign-in codes, receipts and account email. It receives your email address and the message.
- Cloudflare Web Analytics counts page views on nerdly.us without cookies and without anything that identifies you.
- Google Analytics (Google LLC) measures visits to nerdly.us. It receives the page address and title, the site that sent you, your browser and device, and an approximate location from your IP address. It never sees questions, answers or the “about you” line, and it does not run in the account area.
- No advertising script runs on the site, and nothing is sold to anyone.
Account details are kept while the account is open. Usage records and ledger entries are kept as accounting records after it closes.
Signing in sets a cookie that keeps you signed in. A referral link sets one that holds its code for 30 days. Your first visit sets one for 90 days with the site that sent you, the campaign tags in the link and the page you landed on; when your first sign-in creates your account, they are kept with it. Google Analytics sets its own cookies (named _ga) that tell a returning visitor from a new one, for up to two years.
The date at the top changes when this page does. Questions go to hello@nerdly.us.
